This would be a great stand if it worked. I love the idea of a single stand with options for fixed support, a wide roller, and omnidirectional ball bearings.

Unfortunately, the ball bearings don't work. Of the 8 balls in the stand I received, 2 were completely frozen, 4 rolled in some directions but not others, and only 2 worked reasonably well. In addition, the ball height varied by about 1/16 inch, so that a ruler laid across the top would contact only 2 or 3 balls. And contrary to the item description ("10 Point Roller"), it has only 8 ball bearings, not 10.

Another problem: The legs are slightly skewed so the stand wobbles on a flat surface. This could probably be fixed by bending the frame a little, but I didn't try it.

The frame seems sturdy enough. The plastic feet are pretty easy to slide off, though, and I suspect they'd come off occasionally when dragging the support from place to place around the shop.

It's easy to change from one support mode to another; you just lift and rotate the head a quarter turn, and it locks into place. The head rocks a couple of degrees from side to side; I assume this is an intended feature, so it adjusts itself automatically to the workpiece it's supporting. The single 11-inch roller seems to work well, though I would have expected it to turn more freely. If you spin it with the palm of your hand, it stops rolling after about 1-2 seconds

If you don't need the ball bearings at all, this stand might work well for you. But since that's a primary feature for me, I'm returning it and looking for one with working ball bearings.

P.S. I just noticed as I was packing it up for return that the box says: "New! Improved Ball Bearing Design." So it looks like the manufacturer knows about the problem. They just haven't fixed it.
