Product Description
The Genie SLA-5 Superlift is a material lift with a straddle base for straddling loads, steel forks, a 6' 7" (2.0 m) maximum lifting height, and a 1,000 lbs (454 kg) capacity. The SLA-5 operates using a one-speed manual winch for lifting and lowering the forks and has a patented telescoping mast system.
Easy to Maneuver
The lift has 4" (10 cm) maneuverable front casters, and 5" (13 cm) rear casters that have 4-way swivel locks and side brakes for securing the lift during use.
Compact Design
The steel forks measure 27" (l) by 23" (w) by 2.5" by 2.5" (d), and the entire lift can fit through standard doorways for ease of access. A hold-down bar secures the mast during transport.

I purchased one of the used Genie SLA-5 lifts from Western Tool Supply. The shipping company brought it on a pallet to my driveway (rural small town) and driver used his pallet truck to move it on the concrete to my driveway. From there it was easy to remove it from the pallet by tilting and get it into my garage. It was ready to use! It showed very little signs of use, the one brake was a little worn, a few scratches, that was it. No problems with function at all. It came with the aluminum forks. It has a great automatic reversing system so you just crank - up or down - and the load moves - no levers or slack to deal with. The handles are positioned well to allow you to push the Genie around to position it where you want it. Storage: remove the forks and turn them sideways to sit across the back arms, lift the bottom two stabilizers that project toward the front (there are wheels at the back joint that pop into position that permit you to move it around), and push it up against the wall. The unit is well built with grease fittings on all the wheels and pivots. My garage is a weld/fab shop and I use this lift to move materials around, lift items for storage, and position items for welding. I also fabricated a steel work table (probably weighs 150 pounds) that fits on the forks so that I can position it higher or lower to suit the welding job I have to do. A note about max lifting height: if you have a load at floor level, you must lift it with the Genie about two feet, prop it, flip the forks around, and continue lifting with the Genie to get to the max height of 6'7". Without flipping the forks, you can only lift from ground to about 5 ft.
