This is a heavy duty strap. I needed it to replace the strap that hold the grass catcher tube to the blade exhaust on my ride mower. So in my case I took the hooks out of this so that the holes would snap onto the studs on the mower deck and the grass catcher tube. It worked great for that purpose.

There are several inches of stretch in the strap, but it is a very tight stretch. You probably don't want to use it with more the about four inches of play. It won't have the same stretch as for example a bungee cord.
