My nieces and nephews ate this up once I showed them how to do boondoggle with cord. Fun to play with. One thing that was concerning was that it said that it had some kind of coating on it. I wonder if the manufacturer wants to clarify what this is. Should I wash it first?

Looks great for tying knots, as the product says, and feels good when you handle it.

Edit: I emailed Rope King and I think that "Weather resistant coating" and on the package "Weather resistant coasting" is supposed to simply be "weather resistant cotton." Cotton, one responder said, is naturally weather resistant. Another response said, "There is no weather Coating on this product." There seems to be a miscommunication, as I emailed them at least ten times and to date have not gotten a clear answer. However the rope seems to be nice rope.

Also, the rope is fully cotton. That is sometimes hard to find in cord.
