Best Way Tools 25860 Dowel Center Set Review

I purchased these to fix a bar stool top that had split along one of the butt joints from being old. I used this dowel center jig: Wolfcraft 4641404 Dowel Quick Doweling Jig in combination with these dowel centers. I used the jig to drill one side of the stool seat and then used the 3/8" centers to locate the other side. They are very sharp and make a nice reference mark to drill the other side.

The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the light flange along the outside edge that keeps the center from falling into the hold cracked on me when I was removing the center from a slightly snug fitting hole. Maybe it was too snug and I should have opened the hole slightly but I wasn't prying too hard that I thought is should crack. I will make sure they are all a good fit before using the next time otherwise they are great.
