PTFE sheet (Polytetrafluoroethylene) sometimes known as Teflon has established itself as a tough, durable polymer, possessing a unique combination of electrical, chemical, mechanical and thermal properties unmatched by any other single substance. Maximum operating temperature -350 degrees to 500 degrees F. This material should not be heated to temperatures above 752 degrees F (400 degrees C). PTFE Sheet is available in a series of nine thicknesses from 0.005 inches to 0.500 inches. In addition, three of these thicknesses (0.015 inches, 0.030 inches and 0.060 inches) are also available in sheets which are etched on one side to make them bondable to other materials with most general purpose epoxies. Our stock sizes are cut from rolls and the material may be slightly curved, but it can easily be flattened by applying pressure to the whole surface.

The material arrived pretty much as expected; a bit of curl from its origins on a roll, no scratches or creases. Not perfect - one little dent, but it will not interfere with my usage.

As other reviews have stated, the 6 x 6 sheet comes undersize at 5.8 x 5.8. I don't know why the vendor would invite that criticism because the tiny amount of material they save is not worth the bad press that goes with undersizing anything. I voted with the one tool available to me -- subtracting one star -- because of that shortage.

The nominal .030 thickness actually measures between .0315 and .0335 on the edges. I dunno... maybe they justify the linear shortage by counting over-thickness as compensation by weight. I don't mean to legitimize it, but my particular needs are not that stringent.
