Round carbon fiber rod (1/4" diameter). Manufactured from continuous carbon fibers in an vinylester base. These rods are extremely stiff and lightweight and have a very low coefficient of expansion, making them ideal for use as push rods; wing joiner rods on glider and slope soarer aircraft; reinforcement rods in light weight constructions such as model cars, musical instruments, trade show presentations, etc.
MACHINING TIPS: To cut carbon fiber use an abrasive cutoff wheel or 32 teeth per inch hacksaw. Do not use a band saw.

I bought this to see exactly how strong it is. I was curious to see how stiff a rod of this size would be and how well the carbon fiber would resist abrasion. I was not impressed. I was easily rubbed apart on rough surfaces such as concrete, didn't hold up to high heat well at all, and wasn't as rigid as graphite arrow shafts of similar diameter. However, it is what I ordered, I received it on time, and, had it been something I had an intended use for, such as an RC plane or something, I'm sure it would have worked well. 4 stars.
