I used this to make custom cooling air ducting for home entertainment devices in a hot cabinet. The plastic scores easily with a utility knife and after a few passes with the knife you can break it for a clean, straight edge. Straight edges are critical for butt joints. I used Ambroid ProWeld to join all parts, and after they set for a few hours I had cooling ducts that looked and held together like they came from a factory and belonged on the devices the were cooling. Highly recommended!

After reading reviews of other magnet wire on Amazon, and noting the large number of complaints of broken spools or tangling, I decided to take a risk on this wire instead. Big mistake.

The spool did NOT arrive broken, which is good. I was winding this around a 1 1/2" PVC pipe, and I got to about 265 turns when the wire disappeared into the spool with no intention of continuing to unroll. I ended up breaking the edge of the spool (see product images) trying to untangle it. It's clear, now that this won't be possible. I might end up cutting the wire where it is, then cutting another loop on the surface of the spool and starting again.

This is very poorly hand-wound trash. If you need a long continuous length of magnet wire, don't waste your money here. Instead, buy something that's machine wound that won't tangle every hundred feet.

I've also bought 20 AWG wire off Amazon, and it's large enough that it doesn't matter that it's not greatly wound. 30 AWG is too small for this silliness, and it's extremely frustrating to have wasted money on this. Next time I'll spend more and get something that's machine-wound in neat little rows.

Update: I just cut it and cut a loop from the middle of the spool. I got 96 turns before it got caught; this time I pulled, and it broke. I cut another spot on the spool, and I got less than 3 turns before it got stuck and broke. This wire is pretty much worthless to me. I should've flushed my money down the toilet instead...it would have been far less frustrating, and it would've been fun watching it spin down the drain.

Fourty years of bullet casting and this is the nicest alloy it has been my pleasure to use. My bottom pour pot didn't make it to a new location, a couple of moves ago; so its back to a little 10 lb. pot, single burner propane stove, a dipper and, of course the moulds. I WAS satisfied with the bullets I was producing with my old recipe, but not after using this alloy! It is very clean, and stays that way with minimal fluxing. I was getting better quality casts, in six fillings of one of my moulds, than what I used to pay for. Once I found the temperature that mould likes, culls were very few and far between. This is now my alloy of choice. No more stopping to pick up wheel weights in the street!

In addition to their usefullness in stirring molten alloys they also appear to be dense enough for use as carbon arc electrodes. These dowels are very nice. Clean. Am going to use them for crafts. Also going to try to make a few arrows from them for a youth bow. We'll see how that goes. They are reasonably nice and straight, but as wood changes with humidity, i'll need to keep them in some type of form to keep them straight until i can get a sealant on them. Good product and was as described. Good transaction!
